WHO WE ARE

We are an educational consultancy that specialises in Dentistry courses in Valencia, Spain and we are organising the admission process for the Universidad Católica de Valencia for the Dentistry Undergraduate and Master programmes (Comprehensive Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery and Implantology), with English tuition.

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

In 2016 GDC Education launched the Dentistry Degree in English with the Universidad Católica de Valencia. The academic content is taught and examined fully in English, for the entire duration of the degree. Starting with the 3rd year of studies, the clinical/practical sessions are taught and examined in Spanish.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A-Level and GCSE

ABB in A-Level is the typical offer, including Biology and Chemistry but, when we are analyzing an application, we are looking at student’s full profile, therefore, other grades are also considered.

A minimum of 5 GCSE exams with grades between 4 and 9, English and Mathematics included.

Scottish Advanced Highers

Advanced Highers in Biology and Chemistry with minimum BB.

International Baccalaureate

32 points minimum, with HL Biology and Chemistry. The total point score includes TOK/EE.

Other EU and non-EU Leaving Certificates

The equivalent of other European and International Leaving Certificates are accepted.

English Language Requirements

IELTS Academic with a minimum of 7.0 overall band score and with not less than 6.5 in any one component, or equivalent.

HOW TO APPLY

The admission process is exclusively handled by GDC Education.

There are 66 places for Dentistry Degree in English and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the course is full. Even if there is no deadline for applications, it is recommended to start the admission process early in advance as the course is usually full a few months before the academic year starts.

The admission documents are:

  • GDC Education Application Form;
  • A passport size photo (with white background);
  • Scanned copy of relevant passport page;
  • Scanned copy of your DBS (criminal record, if you have one);
  • Scanned copy of your vaccination (immunization) history;
  • All academic transcripts and certificates;
  • Predicted grades.

Students who meet the entry requirements are invited to sit an online admission test and attend an interview.

Successful students will be advised by GDC Education about the number of days that they have in order to secure their place but, normally, it is 10 working days. To secure the place, students have to pay €7400 to the account mentioned in the offer letter. This payment includes a €1400 reservation fee plus €6000 GDC Education’s Pastoral Care package (one payment, first year only).

Tuition fees for 2023/24 academic year, payable in one or in ten monthly instalments, from September 2023. If you pay in one instalment you will be entitled to a discount of 3% of the total fees payable.

Tuition fees for 2024/25 will be updated.

Application fee to be paid after the interview is complete. The fee for the admission test is included in the application fee.

Reservation fee paid in 10 working days from receiving the offer (deducted from the tuition fee).

Pastoral Care package paid with the reservation fee when accepting the offer (mandatory for the 1st year).

Loans, Grants and Scholarships

There are no loans, grants or scholarships available to study Dentistry Degree in English at UCV. Please consider covering the tuition fee, the accommodation, travel and living expenses from your own budget. If your country allows you to access student support, contact us prior to accepting the UCV’s offer.

CAREERS & PLACEMENTS

As a new dental graduate, you will have a variety of career pathways open to you. The most common role is as a general dental practitioner, but you may also become a specialist practitioner (orthodontics or endodontics), consultant in the hospital dental service, you may work in private companies, public administration, teaching and research.

ACCREDITATION & RECOGNITION

The official title of the degree is Grado en Odontologia, the official graduation title is Graduado/a en Odontologia and the name of the regulated profession is Odontólogo

Here is the recognition under DIRECTIVE 2005/36/EC, which enables the free movement of professionals such as dental practitioners and doctors, within the EU. As a dental practitioner, you enjoy automatic recognition of your professional qualification, in EU countries. You will have to submit proof of your qualification and wait for permission from the authorities before you can start working. The Pastoral Care Package includes the following services, for the first year only, and general monitoring and emergencies for the next four years.

  • Access to 24hr helpline, Monday to Sunday, during the academic year. With personal attendance if necessary;
  • Access to a Lawyer, 24hr, Monday to Friday, during the academic year;
  • Solution for housing and advising on the legal implications of the contract, including the utilities and WiFi;
  • Monitoring the academic and personal progress of the student. Advising the parents of any issues, if deemed, necessary;
  • Monitoring of the course for quality and content and liaising with the University if improvements or changes are required;
  • Assistance with the enrolment for the first-year students, throughout the process;
  • Personal assistance with UNED application and providing the Notary;
  • Assistance with VISA and renewals (where required);
  • Advising and assisting with the opening of bank accounts;
  • Advising and assisting with Spanish mobile phone number;
  • Assistance with registration with the Town Hall;
  • Assistance with registration with a Doctor;
  • Assisting with Police registration, NIE;
  • Assistance and advice on Medical Insurance;
  • General enquiries and translation of documents from Spanish to English, only.
